How to Save the World
"Help heal society's brokenness by using your artistry. Living on the creative edge means daring every day to dream of a world beyond the socially constructed barriers that imprison and divide us." --Danny Glover, in Oprah magazine
I really like this quote, because it reminds me that you don't have to march in rallies or move to Africa to feed starving children to make a difference. You make a difference when you use your own creative artistry, just by contributing something beautiful and meaningful to this world.
Coincidentally, right after I read the quote above, someone posted on my dressage bulletin board -
The meaning of life is discovering your gifts.
The purpose of life is giving them away.
What would happen if we lived in a world where everyone could do what they do best? Everything would get done beautifully, assuming everything actually got done. Would people who spent their day sharing their highest gift, bother themselves with issues of power and greed?
