Camas lily

There is a place in Camas, around the pond and through the woods and up the trail, where the Camas Lilies bloom in profusion every spring. It's a place apart from the dark woods surrounding it; the ground is rocky and perpetually damp and the trees don't grow here. But if you make the hike (and it can be a little steep, but just go slow) you'll be rewarded with a high meadow thick with blue-purple blooms. This place is made even more magical by the brevity of the bloom, you have to be watching or you'll miss it.
